Sally Mann

Sally Mann, 88, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at Terrace Ridge Assisted Living Center in Gastonia, NC.

She was born August 10, 1936, in Ellenboro, NC, to the late Henry and Una Bridges Bailey.

Sally was a born again Christian. She was a faithful member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years. She worked for Threads, Inc. for 36 years as a data processing supervisor. After her time at Threads, Inc., she spent close to 15 years at R. H. Rowley Co. on an assembly team.

Her roses were always well groomed around her home. Because of her love of gardening, she was also faithful to pull weeds and plant flowers around the facility at Terrace Ridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack Mann; and all of her siblings, Bobby Bailey, Palmer Bailey, Emogene Hamrick, Rachel McKinney, and Fred Bailey.

Sally is survived by her daughters, Sandra Rice and husband Mike, and Pam Shields; grandchildren, Aaron Rice and wife Lane, Andrew Rice and wife Jody, and Patrick Shields; great-grandchildren, Kati Fletcher Rice, Henry Rice, Charlotte Rice, Caroline Rice, Isaac Rice, Reagan Rice, and Nathan Shields; and many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Sally's life will be held Monday, March 17, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Chapel Grove Baptist Church, 716 Camp Rotary Road, Gastonia, NC 28052. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Roger Overton and Pastor William Montgomery will officiate at the service. Interment will follow the service at Westview Gardens, 1123 Edgewood Drive, Bessemer City, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Sally's memory to Carolina Caring Hospice - Gaston County, 2240 Remount Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.
