Sadie Mae Donaldson

Sadie Mae Donaldson, 82, of Dallas, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone.

She was born June 4, 1933 in Cherokee County, daughter of the late Dewey Gay Jones and Laura Mae Phillips Jones.

Sadie, a native of Cherokee County, loved her family and church family and was a member of North Gaston Church of God in Dallas.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Jones and sisters, Arlene Hardy and Dorothy Bryant.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Darrell Donaldson; daughter, Janice Rainwater; brother, Ervin Jones; sister, Viola Gibby; grandchildren, Anna Rainwater Thompson and husband, Chris, Joseph Rainwater and wife, Torey; and great grandchildren, Noah Rainwater and Natalia Rainwater.

A funeral service will be held 7pm on Wednesday at North Gaston Church of God, 1310 Cherryville Hwy, Dallas. Pastors Andy Nicholson and Thurman Jenkins will be officiating.

The family will receive friends 6-7pm before the service at the church.

A graveside service will be held noon on Thursday at Flax Creek Cemetery, Sunny Point Rd., Murphy.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
