Ruth Ann Walker

Ruth Ann Walker, 72, of Bessemer City, passed away May 14, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

She was born June 30, 1950, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Cossey Morton and Naomi Manning Morton.

Ruth was a real Christian and attended church when she was physically able too. She always thought of others before herself and would always tell them about Jesus. She loved and adored her children and grandchildren.

She was a caretaker for her son and husband for many years. She was a breast cancer survivor.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, May 19, 2023, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Brother Tommy Johns.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

Ruth is survived by son, Clint Walker of the home; daughters, Lisa Gunter of Bessemer City and Melisa Walker Little of Newton; four sisters; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Howard Walker; son-in-law, Gregory Scott Gunter; grandson, Robert Lee Gunter; brothers, Bobby, Hank, and Junior; sisters, Margaret, Myrtle, Hazel, and Pearline.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service located at 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.
