Ruth Campbell Queen

Ruth Campbell Queen, 89, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at Stanley Total Living Center.

She was born August 10, 1932, in Lincoln Co, NC, daughter of the late Chester Campbell and Bertha Campbell.

Ruth retired as a police officer from the Town of Dallas. She also served with the Town of Bessemer City and City of Gastonia. She traveled extensively, hosting many senior trips both domestic and internationally.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Queen of over 44 years; brothers, Alfred, and James; sisters, Mary, Ethel, and Maggie; and son, Benny.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Brenda Queen Blanton and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Connie Queen Hutchens, Randy Queen, and Karen Queen; and great-grandchildren, Madison Blair Queen, and Dalton James Queen.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Stanley Total Living Center, whom we also consider our family.

A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Johnny Yarboro, will be held 11 am on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
