Ruth M. Nichols Brown

Ruth M. Nichols Brown, 86, of Kings Mountain, passed away on October 11, 2015, at Stanley Total Living Center. She was born June 18, 1929, in Hampden, Maine, daughter of the late Nelson Nichols and Edna Steeves Nichols. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Jerry Millwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mrs. Brown is survived by her loving husband of over 67 years, Burl Brown Jr. of Stanley Total Living Center; daughter, Deborah Brown Barker and husband Jerry of Kings Mountain; sons, Stephen Brown and wife Kay, Timothy Brown and wife Nancy all of Kings Mountain; sisters, Gloria June Nichols of Bangor, ME, Jackie Pinkham of Brewer, ME; eleven grandchildren; twenty great- grandchildren; one great- great- grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Irvin and Earl Nichols, Addison and Douglas Mitton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Special Olympics in honor of her grandson, Douglas Barker, 2200 Gateway Centre Blvd. Ste. 201 Morrisville, NC 27560.
