Ruth Jones Kimrey

Ruth Almedia Jones Kimrey, 83, of Gastonia, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Country Time Inn in Kings Mountain.

She was born in Alamance County, NC on May 12, 1939, to the late Buren and Beatrice Jones.

Ruth was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church. She loved to play the piano and organ. She shared these gifts at many weddings, funerals, and church services. She also had a passion for sewing. She loved her dogs, Benji and Buddy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Hobart Kimrey, and her brother, David Jones.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Lynn Kimrey and wife Renee, Marshall Kimrey; daughters, Karen Busler and husband Allen, Rhonda Smith, and husband T.A.; brother, Buren Jones Jr., and wife Lora Ann; sisters, Carol Stewart, Ellen Bishop; grandchildren, Cristy Cummings, Derek Busler, Phillip O'Neal, Jonathan O'Neal, Savanna Busler; great-grandchildren, Luke Busler, Cade Cummings, Emma Busler and Rivers.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Thomas Gibbs, will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, NC.

The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service is serving the Kimrey family.
