Ruth Arline Hightower White

Ruth Arline Hightower White, 87, of Bessemer City, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, at her home.

She was born March 1, 1937, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Ralph Thomas Hightower and Icie Marete Hightower.

Ruth was a faithful member of Puett Chapel Church in Dallas, where she had taken the job of cleaning the church and making sure the sidewalks were free of debris.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She always put other's needs before her own. She enjoyed cooking everyone's favorite meal and she always cleaned up and never let anyone help. She was loved deeply by her family and will be missed by them and all who know her.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Puett Chapel Church officiated by Pastor Tim Luther and Pastor Thomas Hovis. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Monday, August 19, 2024, in the Family Life Center at the church. The burial will be at White-Jenkins Cemetery in Bessemer City.

Ruth is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Steve White and Tina; brother, Gene Hightower and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Dustin White, Dylan White (Brooklyn Simpson), Sierra Hendricks (Jose Martinez). Kyle Blanton (Brenda Rector); several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. White; brothers, John Hightower, Max Hightower, Donald Hightower; sister, Cora Goudlelock.
