Ruth Garrison

Ruth Sarvis Garrison, 88, of Belmont, passed away May 27, 2012, at Stanley Total Living Center, Stanley. She was born February 13, 1924, in Gaston County, daughter of the late William and Clara Smith Sarvis. Mrs. Garrison was member of the First Baptist Church of Cramerton. She was a founding member of the West Cramerton Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Eastern Star and the "Best Grandma ever". A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Cramerton, officiated by Pastors David Julian and Randy Arrowood. The family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 pm on Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Cramerton and other times at the home of Darrell and Phyllis Garrison. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. She is survived by: her son Darrell Garrison and wife Phyllis of Mount Holly; daughter, Sandra Green and husband Clint of Suffolk, VA; brother, Roy Sarvis of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Amy Green of Suffolk, VA, Thomas "TC" Green of Columbus, GA, Josh Garrison and wife Jenna of Mount Holly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Samuel A. Garrison; brothers, Jack and Carl Sarvis; sister, Annalee Sarvis.
