Ruth Dover

Ruth James Stone Dover, 97, formerly of Hooper Avenue, passed away May 29, 2018 at the Brian Center.

She was born December 10, 1920 in Anderson, SC to the late, Turner and Ethel James.

Ruth was a member of Zion Baptist Church with very special friends, Dovis McCarley and Linda Hallman.

She is survived by grandchildren, Rachelle Woody and David Woody and wife, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Tim Deputy and Dalton Machen; sisters, Margaret Brooks of Easley, SC and Rachel Jennings and husband, Aaron of Greenville, SC; numerous nieces and nephews and extended church family.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Woody; husbands, Jess Stone and David Dover; and four brothers.

Services to honor her life will be held 12 pm on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Zion Baptist Church, 2437 Propst Street, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Leo Kuydendall.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
