Kathryn Ruth Brown

Ruth Robinson Brown, 79, of Kings Mountain, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 28, 2026.

She was born on July 10, 1947, to the late Hubert and Jean Robinson.

Ruth was a member of West Franklin Spirit of Life Church. She loved to travel and she loved her family.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Brown; brother Ronnie Robinson.

Ruth is survived by her companion, Frank Lay; sons, Bryan Cochran (Sherra), Kevin Brown (Pilar); honorary son and daughter, Randy "Tal" Dees, Heather King; brother, Earl Robinson (Barbara); sister, Gina Cody (Jeff); sister-in-law, Deb Robinson; seven grandchildren, Nicole Cochran (Sean Bailey), Jessica Cochran (Dustin Cullen), Brynna Cochran (Elliot Wright), Josh Bennett, Erin Pennell (Tristan), Michelle Wamsley ( Jay), Parker Lay; one great-grandchild, Bree Bailey; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life officiated by Pastor Jeff Williams and Pastor Harold Hooper will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026., 3:00 PM, at West Franklin Spirit of Life Church, 442, S. Myrtle School Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church.
