Ruth Hope Bradley Smith

Ruth Hope Bradley Smith, 98, of Gastonia passed away on December 15, 2019 at her residence.
She was born on May 15, 1921, a native of Gaston County the daughter of the late Liller Bradley.
Ruth was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a member of the Sonshine Club. She was a volunteer with the Auxiliary at CaroMont Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Gaston County Senior Games. She loved to garden and make crafts. She retired from Threads Inc. and was also a former employee of Brookside Elementary School.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Chestley Bradley; husband, Charles H. Smith; brother, William Bradley; special friend, Glenn Jenkins.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Smith (Reesa) of Dallas, NC; daughter, Lisa Hoffman of Gastonia, NC; sister-in-law, Helen Hines of Maryland; nephew, Richard Bradley of Maryland; grandchildren, Brett Hoffman, Justin Smith (Ashley), Jesse Smith, Dillon Smith; and great-granddaughter, Stella.
A funeral service will be held 12 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor David MacEachern and the Rev. Steve Hicks.
The family will receive friends 11 am to 12 pm prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum.
