Russell "Rusty" Stewart

Russell "Rusty" Stewart, 45, of Gastonia, passed away August 16, 2016 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

He was born a native of Gaston County on September 1, 1970 the son of Sandra Welch Stewart Sides and step-father Joseph Sides and the late Norman Stewart.

In addition to his mother and step-father, left to cherish his memories are his son Dalton Stewart; brother the Rev. Scottie Stewart and wife Sheila; step-brother Phillip Sides, step-sister Heather Sides; nieces and nephews Morgan, Zachary and Elijah Stewart.

A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Scottie Stewart, will be held 11 am Saturday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.
