Ruby Ramey

Gastonia, NC 1927-2013 Ruby Williamson Ramey, 86, of Alexandria Place, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Alexandria Place in Gastonia. She was born November 27, 1927, in Cleveland County and was the daughter of the late Otis and Lula Mae Adkins Williamson. Ms Ramey was a part of the First Assembly of God congregation in Gastonia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Job Ramey; son, Glenn W. Ramey; daughter, Betty L. Ramey; and grandson, Braden Faile. Ruby is survived by her sons, David Ramey and wife Pam of Gastonia, Carl Ramey and Wife Mary of Tennessee; daughters, Sally Thomason and husband David of Clover, Jenny Faile and husband of Charlie of Gastonia, Stephanie Marlene Pennington and husband Johnny of Gastonia, Vivian Fore and husband Joe of York, Barbara Heffener of Hickory; brother, Robert Williamson of Clover; and is blessed with a bounty of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Alexandria Place and Gaston Hospice for their care of Mrs. Ramey. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Matt Campbell, will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at First Assembly of God in Gastonia. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
