Ruby Marie Gilliland

Ruby Marie Gilliland, 95, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at her home.

She was born September 22, 1920, in Cocke County, Tenn., daughter of the late Abner and Bessie Holt Acuff.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Gilliland; 4 brothers; and 8 sisters.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Joel Gilliland of Shelby; daughter, Altha of the home; grandchildren, Mark Gilliland and wife, Sandy, Marian Price and husband, Alfred, Tracy Rikard, Rena Rikard, and Timmy Gilliland and wife, Marlo; 6 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 3:30pm on Wednesday at Gaston Memorial Park,  1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia. Pastor Sherman Branch will be officiating.

The family will receive friends 2-3pm on Wednesday before the service at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia.
