Roy Spencer

December 5, 1939 - March 16, 2014 - Roy Spencer, 74, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 5, 1939, son of the late Albert "Alb" and Fannie Dye Spencer. Roy was a retired supervisor at Pharr Yarns in McAdenville. A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Wednesday at Independent Baptist Tabernacle in Dallas, NC. The service will be officiated by Rev. Ralph Carver. The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Roy is survived by: His loving wife of 14 years, Lisa Spencer of the home; daughters, Morgan Spencer of the home, Dawn Millsaps and her husband, Chad of Iron Station; sons, Keith Spencer and Andrea Farris of Gastonia, David Spencer and his wife, Kim of Dallas; grandchildren, Philip and Terra Spencer, Amanda and Matthew Trantham, Tyler Dellinger, Dustin Spencer, Jessica and Lauren Farris; three great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Spencer and his wife, Ann; sisters, Jenny Grayson, Louise Thompson and her husband, Jim, Betty Meadows, Diann Rimmer and her husband, Ricky; many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
