Roy Lee Phillips

Roy Lee Phillips went home to be with the Lord, peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 13, 2026, 5:30 PM, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

He was a loving brother and a loving uncle. He showed all of his family so much love throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pearlie Bryson Phillips; his mother, Arrie Bell Short Phillips; brother, Alfred Lewis Phillips; sister, Dorothy Louise Phillips Dellinger; half-brother, Carl Phillips.

He is survived by his twin brother, Coy Lee Phillips; sister, Joann Phillips Dellinger; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

He was an active member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. He loved his church and his church family. He loved spending porch time with his family and going on vacations. He loved going out to eat and trying out new places. He was fun loving, always had a joke to tell and he never met a stranger.

A funeral service officiated by Reverend Josh Vernon will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, 2:00 PM, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 618 Chestnut Ridge Church Road, Kings Mountain, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
