Roy Howard Niblette, 73, passed away on July 23, 2024, in Gastonia NC after a short but
courageous battle with lung cancer.
Roy (aka 'Roy Boy") was born in Paterson, NJ to Howard T. and Eleanor M. Niblette, who
predeceased him. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gellman Niblette and his
older brother Robert Kenneth Niblette and nephew Robert Kenneth Niblette II. He is
survived by his sisters Susan Niblette Donahue, Bonnie Niblette Stephens (Michael), his
sister-in-law Judith Hacking Niblette, nephews James William Niblette, and Andrew Kapko-
Stephens (Lyuba).
Roy graduated from Waldwick High School, Waldwick, NJ, class of 1969, and was able to
use his talents for all things automotive in the early part of his career. Along with a
partner, he opened Cycle Service Center to sell and repair motorcycles. As his talents
expanded, he became proficient in CNC metal fabrication and machining, often prototyping
parts to bring obsolete equipment back to life. He and Linda moved to North Carolina in
2005 where he was able to fully enjoy his favorite sport, NASCAR racing, while also
working for InVue on the development of innovative physical security and access control
systems.
He was known for his prowess as an angler on the local New Jersey streams and at Lake
George New York. He loved to cook and barbeque; he had a terrific sense of humor and a
wonderful, generous, kind spirit. The family will be honoring Roy at a private ceremony.
