Roy Moore

Roy Moore, 92, of Gastonia, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

A native of Gaston County, born on June 13, 1929, son of the late Barney and Ida Wise Moore.

Roy was a member of Trinity Holiness Church of God, where he was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was also a member of South Fork 462 Masonic Lodge. Roy was the former owner and operator of Moore Transmission. He was also the maintenance supervisor of the dye house for Dixie Dyeing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Net Moore, brother, James Moore; and sisters, Lavivian Woods, Audrey Beaver, Blanche Baucom, and Bernice Posey.

Left to cherish Roy's memories are his sons, Terry Moore (wife Marguerite Moore ), Kevin Blake Moore (wife Katina Michelle Moore), Roy Barry Moore (wife Wanda Brakefield Moore); special friend, Paula Huffman; brother, Henry Moore; sister, Farris Costner; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

A graveside service , officiated by Rev. Ray Priest, will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City, NC.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 216 Archie Whitesides Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
