Rosie Modean Gipson

Rosie Modean Gipson, 84, of Gastonia, passed away February 18, 2016 at her home.  She was born May 7, 1931, in Rutherford County, the daughter of the late Claude and Kate Robbins.

Rosie was a member of Friendly Baptist Church in Gastonia.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Judy Browne and husband Doug, Linda Owens and husband Rev. Marshall Owens, all of Gastonia; grandchildren Gwendolyn Sheilds, Matthew Browne and wife Michele, Thomas Adair & wife Julie, Wendi Browne McCraw and husband Douglas and Beth Arrowood; great-grandchildren Noah Browne, Griffin Evans, Justin Arrowood, Samantha Adair, Joshua Jennings, Victoria Browne, Erin Shields, Summer Sheilds and Brooke Adair, Alexis Adair; great-great-grandchildren Cheyene Martin, James Mason and Charlie Browne; brothers Wayne N. Robbins of Clover, SC and Cove A. Robbins and wife Connie of San Antonio, TX.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Gipson; son Tommy Lee; brothers Clifford O'Neal Robbins and Rev. Sam Robbins.

A funeral service will be held 3 pm Sunday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Marshall Owens and Pastor Robert Ammons Jr.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Westview Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
