It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rose May Scott, who left us peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 8, 1942, in North Carolina, Rose spent her life in the Gastonia area, where she became a beloved member of her community.
Rose was a talented seamstress, dedicating many years of her life to working in the sewing plant. She took pride in creating beautiful pieces for herself and her family, showcasing her love for crafts through every stitch. In her free time, she enjoyed sketching and drawing, capturing the world around her in her unique way. An avid lover of nature, Rose cherished her childhood days spent fishing.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana Sherrill (Eric) and Rhonda Edwards (Doug); grandson, Eugene Hawkins; great grandchildren, Hayla, Devin, Haven and Bella; who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A private service will be held in her honor at a later date. She will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege to know her.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Scott; parents, Jack and Cora Bell Beer; granddaughter, Cassie Hawkins; five siblings.
