Rose Conrad Atwood

Rose Conrad Atwood, 90, of Kings Mountain passed away on December 24, 2012 at Countrytime Inn Assisted Living , Kings Mountain, She was born September 3, 1922 in Forsyth County NC daughter of the late Jasper Ross Conrad and Pearl Transou Conrad. Mrs. Atwood was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gastonia. A funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Sunday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia officiated by Rev. Roger Overton and Rev. Bob Wells. The family will receive friends 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home and following the service everyone is invited to fellowship at Brad and Rhonda Atwood's home, 186 Chestnut Lane, Gastonia. Interment will be private. Mrs. Atwood is survived by: son, Brad Atwood and wife Rhonda of Gastonia; daughter, Angela Hopper and husband Harold; brothers, Grover, Lawrence, Samuel and Ronald Conrad; sisters, Mildred Conrad, Inez Lagos; grandchildren, Leigh Atwood Octavious Hopper, Mathew Hopper, Noah Freeman, Gracie Hopper, Jennifer Ledford; great grandchildren, Jaden Hopper, Dalton Moody, Allysia Atwood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: husband of 48 years, Jesse W. Atwood; son, Alan C. Atwood; grandson, Jamie Rhyne; brothers, Jasper and Floyd Conrad; sister, Martha Conrad and Naomi "Nell" Boose. A guest registry is available at greenefuneral.com.
