Rosa Mae Payseur

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa Mae Payseur, who left us on July 19, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on April 20, 1936, in North Carolina, Rosa lived a life filled with love, family, and her cherished hobbies. She was a proud machinist, working for Turbo Conveyor manufacturing, and spent many enjoyable years dedicated to her craft.

Rosa will be remembered not only for her hard work but also for her warm heart. She adored her beloved dogs, Tucker and Benji, and found great joy in bird watching, where she could often be found appreciating nature's beauty. She had a passion for word searches and took pleasure in tending to her flowers, bringing a touch of color into her life and the lives of those around her. She attended Temple Baptist Church, when she was able. Rosa's faith was a guiding light that shone brightly in her life.

Rosa is survived by her loving children, William Payseur Jr. (Suzie), Daniel Payseur (Teresa), Diane Sheppard, and Jonathan Payseur; grandchildren, Scott Payseur (Jamie), Christopher Payseur, Amanda Stevenson (Austin), Jonathan Payseur Jr., James Gutierrez and Ricky Wall Jr.; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Stevenson, Constance Stevenson, Austin Stevenson Jr., Raylyn Payseur, Hunter Bryan, Justin Wall and Madison Wall; special friend, Joyce Payseur; who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Funeral services celebrating Rosa's life will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service with Pastor David MacEachern officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service. The family invites all those who knew and loved Rosa to join them in remembering the wonderful woman she was. Rosa will be laid to rest at Gaston Memorial Park beside her beloved son, Robert Payseur.

Though she may be gone, Rosa's spirit lives on in the love she shared and the memories she created. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is at peace, watching over her loved ones from above.

In addition to her son, Rosa was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Buchanan; father of her children, William Payseur Sr.; siblings, James Buchanan, Ruby Reep, and Harold Buchanan; daughter in-law, Larraine Payseur; son in-law, Billy Sheppard.
