Ronnie Phillips

Ronnie Phillips, 68 a native of Gaston Co., NC, passed away April 12, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born February 2, 1954, son of the late R.L. Phillips and Florence Davis.

Ronnie enjoyed fishing, racing, hunting, four wheeling, mountain trips, building and flying model airplanes. He also had a race car at Carolina Speedway for seven years and had a woodwork shop. Ronnie was devoted and loved his grandchildren and his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Phillips Carswell; father and mother figure, David Allen, and Shirley Campbell Jacobs; and aunt, Carolyn Haney Payne.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Donna Griffin Phillips; son, Michael Junior Atwood; daughter, Melissa Dawn Picklesimer; grandchildren, Ryan Wentz, Somer Knight, Taylor Wentz, and Carter Wentz; brother, Johnny Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 2 pm, Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the residence of Ronnie – 658 Separk Cir., Gastonia, NC 28054.
