Dr. Ronnie Smith M.D.

N. Myrtle Beach, SC Dr. Ronnie Smith, MD, 66, formerly of Dallas, NC, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Seacoast Medical Center in Little River SC. He was born in Gaston County January 9, 1947 and was the son of the late George Junior Smith and Florence Heavener Smith. He attended Gaston College and UNC Chapel Hill Medical School. He practiced medicine at Doctor's Care. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Long Creek Baptist Church, Dallas, with the Rev. Jim Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Dr. Smith is survived by his wife Brenda Smith of N. Myrtle Beach, son, Brett David Smith, MA, daughter Kelly Smith Damico and husband Tommy, Greensboro, stepchildren, Hope and Brittney Hilburn, Bridgette Johnson all of N. Myrtle Beach, brothers George Smith and wife Becky, Kings Mtn, Randy Smith of Lake Waccamaw, sister, Brenda Crenshaw and husband Barry, Gastonia, grandchildren, Jordan Garcia, Kennedy and Kaylin Damico, step grandchildren, Alexandria, Brody, and Bryce Hilburn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Wendy Gail Smith.
