Ronnie "Cotton" Keller, 72, of Dallas, NC, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Gaston County, on March 22, 1952, to the late Hubert and Joyce Keller.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Johnson.
Cotton was an amazing daddy, Poppy, brother and friend. There was no finer person. He impacted everyone he met and was an inspiration to anyone who knew him or his story. He was an active member of Myers Memorial UMC as well as Trinity UMC before they merged with Myers. Before transferring his membership to Trinity, he was an active member at Victory Baptist Church for over 30 years. Teaching VBS and assisting with the youth group were some of his favorite things to do. Cotton loved to sing and give his testimony. He also loved to cook and enjoyed cooking meals for his family and friends and luncheons at church. He was an avid golfer and softball player. He spent many years playing softball for work and church leagues and made numerous friends doing so. He was a huge sports fan and enjoyed watching them with his special group of friends and his brother. Cotton had a servant's heart and loved volunteering his time whether that was at his daughter's school for field trips, tutoring children, substitute teaching or counseling at youth rallies for youth with ostomy's. He has many "children" he adopted in the years he attended the youth rally and many he still remained in contact with. His greatest and most favorite role was being a Poppy to his 4 grandchildren. He was a light in this world; positive and funny and a joy to be around. This is an enormous loss, and he will be missed every day.
Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Brynn Queen, and husband Andrew; brother, Ernie Keller; sister, Kandy Gunter; grandchildren, Austin, Sydney, Autumn, Jaxon Queen; nieces, Kerry Robinson and husband Chad, Ciji Keller; nephew, Cody Keller (Barbara); great-nephews, Dillon Robinson, Collin Robinson, Colton Robinson, Connor Ogle, Colson Keller.
