Ronnie Wesley Hunt

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronnie Wesley Hunt, who left this world on July 6, 2026, at the age of 74. Ronnie was born on February 25, 1952, in Clifton Forge, VA, and spent much of his life in Gastonia, NC, where he worked as a machinist for Freightliner in the truck manufacturing industry.

Ronnie was that guy who loved life and cherished every moment with his family. He was especially proud of his role as a grandfather, spending countless happy hours with his grandkids, Levi, Evangeline, and Eliana. Outside of family time, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and cruising the open roads on his motorcycle - these were the things that made his heart sing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Eva Hunt, and his siblings: David, Homer Leon, Leroy, Sandy, and Dorothy. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Diane Hunt; his sister, Patricia Groleau; his brother, Buster Hunt; and his children, Shannon Marshall and Adam Hunt.
A celebration of Ronnie's life will be led by Pastor Ronnie Dale, will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 4:00 PM, at Holland Memorial Baptist Church, 123 Holland Memorial Church Rd., Bessemer City, NC. We invite friends and family to join us in remembering the many laughs and memories shared. We'll gather to honor his spirit and the joy he brought to all of us.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital (Online Donations - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) or simply spend some quality time with your loved ones in his memory. He would have loved that.
