Ronnie Griffie

Ronnie Griffie, 73, of Gastonia, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 16, 1944, in Newport News, VA, the son of the late Ted Griffie and Jessie Ernest Stillwell.

Ronnie was a member of Davis Memorial Baptist Church in Gastonia where he was also the former pastor. He was the former pastor at Second Baptist Church in Gastonia.  He loved his family and was a Veteran of the United States Airforce.  Ronnie was also the former superintendent of Dalton Rescue Mission Children's Home in Dalton, GA.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 53 years, Doris Nivens Griffie; sons, James, John and Michael Griffie; daughters Jane White and Rhonda Harmon and husband Chris; brother, Charles Griffie; sisters Becky Morris and Candy Lowery and husband Paul; nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, Officiated by Rev. Larry McAllister.

The family will receive friends 2 – 3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
