Ronnie Lee Cooley, 70, of Dallas, bid this world goodbye on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 20, 1946, in Fulton, KY, to the late Paul Lee Cooley and Carolyn Wilson Cooley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Cooley brother, Barry Cooley.
Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was an active member of Springwood Freewill Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 50 years, Doris Cooley; son, Ronnie Cooley II (Catherine); daughters, Melissa Sluss (Chuck), Beth Welch (Jay); brother, Charles Cooley; sister, Brenda Pritchard; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jeff Silver, will be held, 2pm on Saturday, April 15, at Springwood Freewill Baptist Church, 826 Stanley Spencer Mountain Rd. Gastonia.
The family will receive friends 12:00-1:45pm prior to the service at the church and will also receive friends during other times at the home.
Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
