Ronald Kenneth Laverde

Ronald Kenneth LaVerde Jr., 62, of Clayton, NC, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving friends and family. Ron courageously fought cancer for over 18 months.

Born on March 21, 1962, in Hornell, NY, son of the late Ronald K. LaVerde, Sr., and Rose M. Sheridan.Ron was a devoted father, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James A. LaVerde; and nephew, Joshua T. Owens.

A passionate golfer, Ron spent countless hours on the greens, enjoying the game and the camaraderie it brought him. He was also an avid Miami Dolphins fan, always cheering for his team with unwavering loyalty, no matter the season.

Ron's gentle nature, infectious laughter, and dedication to those he loved made him a cherished figure in the lives of his friends and family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, warmth, and unwavering support of those around him.

Ron is survived by his two beloved children, Thomas LaVerde (Hope), and Brayden LaVerde; grandchildren, Amelia and Miles LaVerde; sisters, Lynn LaVerde and Terri LaVerde.

A private service will be held, and Ron will be laid to rest in Lincolnton, NC. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, and his spirit will be carried with us on every fairway.
