Ronald Hartemann, 74, of Mt. Holly, passed away July 17, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 12, 1944 in Bergen, New Jersey, the son of the late Harvey Hartemann and Elsie Schablick Hartemann.
Ronald was a volunteer at Discovery Place in Charlotte and The Schiele Museum in Gastonia. He was a high school teacher who taught German, Spanish and Science and helped at-risk students at the school. He was a South Mountain State park ranger in Phoenix, Arizona and an aspiring geologist and paleontologist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandy Hartemann.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Hartemann and wife, Maria in Belmont; daughter, Sue Sink and husband Jonathan of Huntersville, NC; sister, Lynn Almeida of Howell, NJ; grandchildren, Jacob, Sophia, Gregory and Anna; and special pet dog, Toby.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
