Roger "Paw Paw" Jennings Culbertson

Roger "Paw Paw" Jennings Culbertson, 75, of Gastonia, passed away August 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born February 21, 1940 in Cleveland County, son of the late Clarence and Eula Mae Pruitt Culbertson. Mr. Culbertson was a US Navy veteran and was formerly employed with Lion Services of Charlotte. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Tweed Culbertson; six brothers; and a sister. Roger is survived by his sons, Chuck Culbertson of Gastonia and Ronnie Culbertson, who is currently serving abroad with the US Navy; daughter, Darlene Basile and husband Mike of DeLand, FL; sister, Louise Rice of Gastonia; and grandchildren, Patrick and Mary Culbertson, and Ashley Basile. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Larry Liverette, will be held 2 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1300 Baxter Street, Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204.
