Roger Rex Cobb

Roger Rex Cobb, 72, of Dallas, North Carolina, passed away on September 1, 2026.

Born on October 20, 1953, Roger spent most of his life in Gaston County. A skilled carpenter and repairman, he knew how to build, fix, and restore almost anything with his hands. More than that, he used those talents to serve the people around him. Roger was the kind of man who would truly give anyone the shirt off his back, even if it was the only one he had. If someone was in need, he was there without hesitation.

Roger brought warmth and humor wherever he went. As a natural prankster, his main goal in any room was simply to make people laugh. His playful spirit and generous heart left an unmistakable mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Evalee Cobb.

Roger is survived by his four daughters: Melanie Edling (Richard), Tiffany Cobb, Tosha Johnson (Eric), and Kristina Wood; his oldest grandson, Austin Ford, whom his granddad affectionately called "Squig" along with four other grandchildren. 

He also leaves behind his three brothers, Rick Cobb (Trish), Kenneth Cobb (Barbara), and Robert Cobb (Cheri), as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A funeral service to celebrate Roger's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 5th at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
