Roger Lee Calaway

Lincoln County - Roger Lee Calaway, 47, of Lincoln Co., passed away Thursday, January 2nd, at University of NC Hospital, Chapel Hill, Orange County, NC. He was born March 20, 1966 to Charlie Calaway, Sr. and Janice Thompson. Roger was an avid carp fisherman and had a radio ministry years ago. He is survived by: his father, Charlie Calaway, Sr. and wife, Shelby, his mother, Janice Thompson and husband, Robert, his wife, Donna Calaway; son, Joe Calaway; daughter, Holly Danielle Calaway; brothers; Rodney Joe Calaway and Charlie Joe Calaway, Jr. and wife, Connie. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday at New Faith Baptist Church, 1224 Mayberry Rd., Stanley officiated by Pastor Joe Drum. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Pearl Baptist Church 4657 N. Carolina 27, Iron Station, NC. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
