Roger Dale Armstrong, 74, of Gastonia, passed away October 14, 2017 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.
He was born September 17, 1943 in Fairfield County, SC, the son of the late Robert Linwood Armstrong and Junie Louise Lutz Armstrong.
Roger was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Gastonia. He loved competing in car shows and won several awards for his cars. He was also a supervisor for over 30 years at Knit Craft.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 55 years, Jackie Benfield Armstrong; son, Richard Armstrong; daughter, Jodi El-Etri; 2 brothers; 2 sisters, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Robbin Harris, will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
His final resting place will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Mt. Holly.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
