Rodney Charles Garrett

Rodney Charles Garrett, 76, of Hickory, NC, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

A native of Gaston County, he was born on December 2, 1947, to the late J.L. and Mary Garrett.

Rodney was an avid golfer. He loved coffee. He loved western tv shows, especially Gunsmoke. He was a Redskin football fan and UNC Tarheels basketball fan.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Connie Hill; stepmother, Betty "Maw" Miller Garrett; grandchildren, Brayden & Hayden Beason.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Christine Thron Garrett; sons, Scott Garrett (Sheri Pruett); daughters, Tracy Horton, Jessica Garrett (Clay), Samantha Garrett (Cameron); sisters, Jackie Lytton (Randy), Sonya Cowan (Robert Hass); six grandchildren, Kelsey Garrett, Nikki Horton, Taylor Garrett, Eric "Scottie" Brady, Ragan Beason; four great-grandchildren, Mason Garrett, Waylon Haney, Jackson Haney, Lincoln Marlowe.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
