Roberta Franklin

Roberta Franklin, 65, of Gastonia, passed away December 25, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born November 30, 1949 in Concord, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Richard Allan and Flavia Moreau Derby. Roberta loved her family dearly. She is survived by her sons, Richard Franklin and girlfriend, Chasity McCall, Charles Franklin Jr. and wife, Melissa; daughter, Judy Messer; brothers, Richard Derby, Phillip Derby and Brian Derby; sisters, Linda Dalton, Loretta Laskey and Anita Sedillo; grandchildren, Victoria Nance, India Franklin and Jarrett Coleman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin; daughter, Linda Franklin; brothers, James Derby and Jeffrey Derby. A memorial service will be held 4 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service- South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Glenn Paul Rick. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
