Dr. Robert Bruce Wallace, 66, of Kings Mountain, passed away on October 18, 2016 at his home.

He was born October 6, 1950, in Nova Scotia, son of the late Louis Wallace and Shirley Parnell Wallace.

Dr. Wallace received his Doctorate at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was the cofounder of the EMS service in Gaston County and had served the community as a local doctor for over 35 years.

He was a leader in the Boy Scouts where he received the honors of the Silver Beaver, Distinguished Commissioner and Powder Horn awards. He also was a Brother of the Order of the Arrow.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Marshall Owens.

The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be private.

Dr. Wallace is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Mullinax Wallace; sons, Eric B. Wallace and wife, Jessica, Zachary D. Wallace; daughter, Nicole Bobo and husband, John; brothers, James and Tom Wallace; sister, Joann Chinn; grandchildren, Ashlynn, Ethan, Blake and Robbie Wallace; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Shriner's Hospital for Children 950 W. Faris St. Greenville, SC 29605 or St Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
