Robert Lathan Shipp, 66, of Albemarle passed away July 25, 2020 Atrium Health -Albemarle.
He was born March 27, 1954 in Union County.
Mr. Shipp retired from the NCDOT after a very long and full career. He loved anything to do with cars. He was dedicated and devoted to his mother. He loved spending time with his family. He always thought of others before himself. Always ready to lend a hand to help someone. He had a heart of Gold.
He leaves behind a son Robert ( Jennifer) Lathan Shipp II, his fiancée Mary Ann Nettles, his mother Helen L Faires, a granddaughter Sarah Alexandria Shipp, Step grandson Hayden Mason, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister Dale Shipp
Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association 1300 Baxter Street Ste. 150 Charlotte NC 28204 or the American Heart Association 128 Tryon Street Ste 1588 Charlotte NC 28202.
Services will be held Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Monroe, NC.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
