Robert Benjamin Putnam

Robert Benjamin Putnam, 47, of Gastonia passed away June 4, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. Robert was employed by United Construction, in Charlotte for over 15 years. He was born June 11, 1967 in Cleveland County. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Cecilia Cole Putnam, of the home; mother, Dian Putnam Dickey of Gastonia and step father Jimmy Dickey of Kings Mountain; stepsons, Jeffrey Brandon Wilson of Kings Mountain and fiance' Andrea; Justin Michael Wilson of Troutman and wife Nikki; grandchildren, Olivia and Zachary Wilson; sister, Sherri Putnam and husband Rick Roadman of Gastonia; sister in law and brother in law, Debbie and Tommy Braswell of Kings Mountain; niece, Angel Putnam; nephew, Richie Baker III; great nieces, Alana, Kaitlyn and Carmen; great nephew, Willie Gage. Preceded in death are his father, Mial Benjamin Putnam, Jr.; grandparents, Willie Frances Putnam, Mial Putnam, Sr., E.Z. and Julia Wright Whitworth. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 pm at West Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, 2145 West Fifth Avenue, Gastonia with Pastor Richard Cole officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday 1:30 - 3:00pm at the church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Humane Society, PO Box 2334, Gastonia, NC 28053-2334. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
