Robert Delano Mcswain

Robert Delano McSwain, 73, passed away on February 7th, 2016. He was born March 16, 1942 in Lincoln County, son of the late Oliver Victor and Elsie Black McSwain.
Robert was owner of McSwain's VW Garage and retired as a machinist from Sherill Industries. He then headed to the coast of NC, where he worked on Bald Head Island. He loved golf, was an avid bowler, and proud of his two perfect scores of 300. This man had a sense of humor as colorful as the life he led.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Laura Barnette, his son Ricky McSwain (Teresa) of Crouse, Randy McSwain (Ginger) of Gastonia, daughters Rhonda Stillwell (Timmy) of Dallas, and Robin Padgett (Dale) of Mt. Holly, stepsons Bryan and George Gore, special brother in law, Elmer Rich of Leland, NC, sisters Kathleen Kinley, Betty Farris, Pauline Watson of Bessemer City, and Shelva Russ of Mooseville, grandchildren Robert Ferguson, T.J. and Aaron McSwain, Landon Padgett, and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his late wife Marleen and his brothers Junior, Jerome, Paul, and Jack McSwain.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 13th, from 2 – 4 pm at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, 5306 Dallas Cherryville Hwy, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
Burial will be private.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
