High Shoals- Robert Daniel Lewis departed this life on Janary 4, 2018 at his residence.

Robert was born April 3, 1942 in Madison County, NC, son of the late James and Berlie Lewis.

Robert was a retired Air Force Sergeant, serving his county for 23 years. 1960 – 1965 with US Army and 1966 – 1984 with US Air Force. He served in Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Alaska and numerous places stateside. He was a member of the OFWB Biker/Prison Ministry. He loved attending church and riding his Harley. As a former truck driver, he had been in all 50 US States.

Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel, officiated by Rev. Lee Russell and Rev. Gerald Bohler. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. ______at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Kinston, NC, officiated by Rev. James Sowers with Full Military Rites.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Harstin of the home; son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Lewis of Dover, NC; brother and wife, Dewey and Carol Lewis of Kings Port, Tenn; sisters, Frances Meghoo of Kings Port, Doris Ann Cunningham of Las Vegas, Reva Jean and Rick Gordon of Kings Port and Deborah McMillian of Marion, Va.; three step-children, Troy Harstin and family, Lisa Montgomery and family and Traci McCosh-Lynn and family.

Robert was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wade Lewis; a brother, James Gordon Lewis; wife and mother of his sons, Wanda Hart and wife Annie Dell Hawkins.
