Robert "Bobby" Knight

Gastonia, NC - Robert "Bobby" Knight, 62, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, August 25th, at his residence. He was born July 28, 1952 in York County, SC, son of the late George Garfield and Hildrath Pauline Knight. Robert was a member of West 5th Avenue Freewill Baptist Church and an avid fisherman. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Michelle Weathers for all her help. A going home service will be held 6 pm on Friday at West 5th Avenue Freewill Baptist Church - 2145 W 5th Avenue, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Michael Coe. Visitation will be held after the service at the church. Interment will be private. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Louise Knight; step-daughters, Elizabeth Ann Wike and Mary Louise Stewart; sister, Diane Wray; grandchildren, James Eric Hilton, Kaidyn Cox and Emma Wike. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Glenn (Robbie) Knight. Memorials may be made to West 5th Avenue Freewill Baptist Chuch - Bobby Knight Fund - 2145 W. 5th Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052.
