Robert Monroe Johnson Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Robert Monroe Johnson Jr., known better by family and friends as "Dusty" at age 55.

Dusty was born June 6 ^th , 1967, to Robert Johnson and Toni Johnson Messer. He graduated from Bessemer City High School in June of 1986. He went on to drive tractor trailers, where he got to travel the United States. He gave that up to be home more with his family and was currently working at Rehrig Pacific Company in Lincolnton.

Dusty was a kind, honest, dependable, hard-working man. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, and grandfather. The light he brought into our lives will be truly missed.

Dusty is preceded in death by his father, Robert Monroe Johnson and sister, Lori O'Dell.

Dusty is survived by his wife, Dawne Berryhill Johnson; mother and pops, Toni and Houston Messer; daughter, Kaitlyn Johnson (Chad Watson); stepdaughter, Rebecca Ray and husband Eric; brother, Jesse Johnson; grandchildren, Mila and Olivia Watson, Matthew Boyd, Autumn Dean, Cheyenne and Rylan Pinkleton.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette.

The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The burial will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

The family asks that you please respect their privacy during this difficult time and request to not have visitors at their homes.
