Kings Mountain
Robert Wray Green Canipe, 91, of Kings Mountain, passed away on October 22, 2018, at Testa Family Hospice House, Kings Mountain.
A Cleveland County native, he was born December 1, 1926.
Mr. Canipe was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise Starnes Canipe; biological parents, Harvey Lee and Emma Irene Hill Green; parents; Lester and Vader Canipe; sisters, Faye Stacey, Ruthie Bell, Zennie Riley, Lilly Mae Green, Hazel Canipe, Carrie Green; brothers, Harvey Green, Zeno Green, Sam Green, Martin Green, Dock Green, Yates Green; great-great-grandson, Braxton Panther.
Left to cherish his memories, daughter, Judy Phillips and husband Coy; son, Mike Canipe and wife Penny; grandchildren, Robbie Phillips and wife Sandy, Crystal Bess and husband Gary, Jason Canipe and wife Amanda, Kevin Canipe and wife Ashlee; great-grandchildren, Tasha Panther and husband Justin, Tyler Bess and wife Summer, Hali Etters and husband Lee, Amy Phillips, Nathan Bess, Maelia Canipe, Clay Canipe, Tanner Tolleson, Tucker Tolleson; great-great-grandchildren, Madelyn Etters, Owen Bess, Asher Bess, Aubrey Panther; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Eastside Baptist Church 308 York Rd. Kings Mountain, officiated by Pastor Ron Caulder and Rev. James Hamrick
The family will receive friends 7-9pm Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.
Interment will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Cleveland County 951 Wendover Heights Dr. Shelby, NC 28150.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
