Gastonia
Robert Dale Smith,69, of Gastonia, passed away on November 1, 2018, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.
He was born June 2, 1949, in Gaston County, son of the late Curtis Smith and Ethel Mull Smith.
Robert had been with Putnam Auto Parts for over 48 years. He was a member and Past Master of Post 704 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites and Gaston County Shrine Club.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, November 5, 2018, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Brian Austin.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Gastonia.
Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Martha Putman Smith; son, Rocky Smith, Robert Putnam; grandchildren, Todd Smith, Megan Gracie Smith, Michael Parker, David Parker, Emily Pike, Kaleb Pike; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Heidi Parker
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Dwayne Smith.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
