Robert Wayne Buchanan

Robert "Wormy" Buchanan, 71, of Lowell, NC, passed away September 25, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

He was born January 2, 1953, in Gaston County, NC, to the late James and Joyce Buchanan.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his step-father, Gibb Fore; and dear friend, Jethro Parker.

Robert "Wormy" was retired from Affinia (formerly known as Wix) where he worked as a press operator. He was a great father, grandfather, friend, and role model. He loved to go fishing with his children and grandchildren. Even after his retirement, Wormy always found a way to stay busy. He ensured his family was taken care of, as well as his dogs.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Christina Kimsey; sons, Christopher Buchanan, and Kenny Ledford; grandchildren, Skye, Destiny, Kloie, Dakota, Enzley, Leyland, and Roman; and great-grandchild, Sylas; and sister, Jeannie Land and her husband (who was like a brother) Gary.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, 5:00-7:00 pm, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
