Robert Gene Adams, Sr.

Robert Gene Adams, Sr., 77, of Gastonia, passed away April 19, 2015, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. He was born July 24, 1937, in Gaston County, son of the late Leonard Adams and Louise Adams Schronce. Robert was a US Navy Retiree and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW and retired from WIX Filter Manufacturer. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by step father, CJ Schronce; brother, Bill Schronce; and grandson, Grady Ricky Hall, Jr. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of over 55 years, Carolyn Adams; sons, Bobby Adams (Leslie), Jeff Adams; daughters, Windy Adams, Cindy Huffstickler; brother, Harold Schronce; sisters, Mildred Gregory, Betty Berry, Becky St. Laurent, Vernell Cosby, Cathy Schronce; grandchildren, Kent and Stevie Huffstickler, Mark and Cody Estes, Ross, Sarah, and Lauren Adams; and great grandchild, Gracie Diane Estes. A funeral service will be held 2pm on Wednesday at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, officiating Pastor Jerry Millwood. The family will receive friends 1:00-1:45pm before the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robin Johnson House, PO BOX 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054 and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, PO BOX 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
