Rita Chapman Icard

Rita Chapman Icard, 59, of Newton, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Lincolnton, NC.

She was born April 30, 1963, in Cleveland Co, NC, daughter of Claude Jose Chapman and the late Helen Lounnette Shalp.

Rita loved to travel and doing activities.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her nephew, JR Woodell; and step father, Joe Ledbetter.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her son, Jimmy Icard; daughter, Jessica Wright; sisters, Raven Page, Elaine Collingwood, Wanda Butler, Pam Black, Tammy, and Chrissy Ervin; brothers, Gene Chapman, and Jose Chapman; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and husband, Jimmy Edward Icard.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Bill Murphy, will be held 5pm on Friday, June 17, 2022, at North Brook Baptist Church - 7421 Flay Rd, Cherryville, NC 28021.

Family will receive friends 4-4:45pm, at the church.

Inurnment will be held a later date at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, NC.
