Ricky Hawkins

Ricky Allen Hawkins, 68, of Gastonia, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

A Gaston County native, he was born January 24, 1953, son of the late Ervin and Myrtle Hawkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bud Hawkins and sister, Barbara Sparks.

Ricky loved his family, car shows, playing Santa Claus.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 29 years, Sarah Gary Hawkins; sons, Samuel Hawkins and girlfriend Teena Davis, and Michael Meshell and wife Stephanie; daughters, Angela Bates and husband Johnny, Hope Hawkins and boyfriend Tommy Bowen, Suzette Meshell and Fiancé Kyle McCurry; sister, Deborah George; 28 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Bob Hinson, will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
