Gastonia, NC- Rick P. Davidson, 51, of Gastonia, passed away May 11, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born May 20, 1962 in Altoona, PA, son of Joseph and Joan Davidson. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 5323 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC, officiated by Rev. Steve Hensley. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont. In addition to his parents, Rick is survived by his son, Joshua Davidson of Gastonia; daughter, Shana Davidson of Gastonia; brothers, Joseph W. Davidson, Jr. and wife, Marian of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Jon P. Davidson and wife, Sue of Cary, NC; Todd F. Davidson and wife, Annette of Charlotte, NC, Joseph K. Davidson and wife, Dana of Dallas, NC, Jay F. Davidson and wife, Christina of Gastonia, NC; nieces, Rose Davidson, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Ashley Zingras of Seabrook, TX, and Kylee Davidson of Cary, NC; nephews, Connor Davidson, of Cary, NC, Dylan and Trevor Davidson of Gastonia; two grandchildren, Chandler and Maddelynn Davidson, of Gastonia, NC long-time girlfriend Donna Martin and her children Tommy and Kaylin Walkowiak, all of Gastonia, NC. Richard was preceded in death by his granddaughter Shaelynn Davidson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association of NC - 514 Daniels St., Suite 109 Raleigh, NC 27605. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
